Valentine's Day Festivities!

It was so nice to see the kiddos today after our "snowcation!"  We knew this would happen, right?!? But truly, I hope everyone enjoyed some snow day fun with their families.  The kids seemed excited to be back today, especially with it being VALENTINE'S DAY!!

Thank you for having your child decorate their boxes at home.  They all looked spectacular!  I've included some pictures of all my little Valentines.

SNOW CLOTHES
On another note, please be sure that you have your child bring boots and snowpants to school if they plan on playing in the snow at recess.  Students are not supposed to be going in the snow without these items, and we had many children across the grade coming in very wet after lunch today.
I also ask that you send in a pair of shoes for your child to change into if they wear boots to school.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation!

A Visit with Ben Franklin!

Last week we had a wonderful presentation from "Historical Perspectives" about the life of Ben Franklin.  The role player was full of energy and enthusiasm.  He had students laughing, wondering, asking questions.  By changing costumes, he was able to take us all the way through Ben's entire life. Lots of fun!

Our very own Nate was brought up to help with a demonstration.  Great job, Nate!

Global Play Day Fun!

Wednesday, February 1st was our first Global School Play Day, and students from Room 8 brought in so many wonderful things to enjoy.  We had knitting, crafts, board games, legos.....all sorts of fun!  It was terrific to see students engaging with each other in an unstructured way, nonacademic way.

 Jenga!
 Strategy games....
 Marble Runs!
 Arts & Crafts
 A serious game of Chess
Knitting with pencils instead of knitting needles!
And of course, Legos!
